The Legend of Nahuala (Spanish: La Leyenda de la Nahuala) is a 2007 Mexican Adventure-Comedy-Horror produced by Animex Producciones with a run time of 84 minutes. The film takes place in the year 1807 in the city of Puebla, New Spain where Juan, a shy nine year old, is constantly fearful of the legend of Nahuala whom his brother told him of. He never expected the journey he'd take.

Is directed by Ricardo Arnaiz.


The year is 1807 in the city of Puebla de los Ángeles, New Spain. Leo San Juan, an insecure nine-year-old boy, lives eternally frightened by the horror stories that Nando, his older brother, tells him. Among these stories is The Legend of Nahuala, according to which an old abandoned mansion is possessed by the spirit of an evil witch known as Nahuala, who is waiting for the soul of an innocent child to resurrect and gain absolute power. The Legend becomes true when the spirit of Nahuala kidnaps Nando before Leo's eyes...


The Legend of Nahuala is followed by 2011's La Leyenda de la Llorona (The Legend of the Crying Woman).
