Personal History[]
Legacy[]
Many of McCay's techniques are currently in use by the majority of those involved in Traditional Animation.
Winsor McCay's beloved character, Little Nemo from his comic strip, Little Nemo in Slumberland was revived in 1989 by Japanese Producer Yutaka Fujioka, who approached McCays decendents for permission to create a film. For years Yutaka Fujioka had dreamed of creating an animated film version of the comic strip, that had been created by the father of modern animation. In 1989 the film, Nemo, was released in Japan, and three years latter in the US under the title, Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland.
